Ask how the shape fits your routine
Explain whether you air-dry, diffuse, blow-dry smooth or alternate between styles. Bring a photograph from an ordinary day as well as inspiration images. A salon finish can look different from a quick morning routine.
Discuss the length to keep, layers and where you want volume. For curls, talk about shrinkage and how the proposed shape would behave in your natural pattern. Do not assume every curl appointment uses the same method.
Confirm preparation
Ask whether the stylist wants you to arrive in your natural pattern and whether any products should be avoided. Preparation depends on the method and appointment; a rule copied from another salon may not apply.
If the goal includes color or smoothing, mention it when reserving the haircut. Confirm the time and services included in the booking.
